“Omniae is the space of the whole.
Shapeless whole, where the absence of lines is not able to contain any possibility.
Beyond space and time, where the little norms of meaning fade away.
Omniae Ensemble may be a glimpse of the whole.

It’s the creative exploration space of Pedro Melo Alves, where his visions of evasion and transcendence – echoes of a tempting impossibility – are put on paper to challenge. You hear intricate landscapes, with the extended sounds of contemporary music blended with the flow of improvised music. You hear a collective of people that embrace on stage the sight of the unknown. You hear the possibility.”

“(…)A DIZZYING SONIC SCENARY, (…) no dull moment, tilting surfaces, rushing drums, lingering intermezzos, soaring horns, solos luxuriating in orchestral beddings—abundant, youthful supererogation. (…) HERE WE HAVE A FIRMLY STIMULATING OBLIGATION FOR CAUTIOUS PRESENTERS IN THE REST OF EUROPE.
Henning Bolte, All About Jazz

“Omniae Ensemble, composed of invigorating practitioners of new music, sounds like A MODERN SYMPHONIC WORK IMBUED WITH OVERWHELMING EMOTION AND DEEP RESONANCE.
Filipe Freitas,

“The originality and excellence of Pedro Melo Alves’ compositions along with the band’s interpretative quality turn this record into A REMARKABLE MILESTONE FOR PORTUGUESE JAZZ, a reference for contemporary music with broad horizons, bold music, open-minded and adventurous.“
Nuno Catarino, Público

“There are delicious digressions and diversions but not a dead spot nor blind alley is to be found. Whether is tiptoeing through a haunting ballad or making a detailed, deep blue study THE INTERPLAY IS SIMPLY SUBLIME.”
Raul da Gama, Jazz da Gama

“The young portuguese drummer Pedro Melo Alves, 26 year old, appears as a solid voice on one of the most intense scenes of the moment. HIS OMNIAE ENSEMBLE IS A SPECIALLY RICH EXAMPLE OF HIS INVENTIVNESS AS A COMPOSER. (…) A contemporary jazz, attentive to elements both from the erudite and popular crops, which is finely balanced in its development – all in the right place amid precise and elegant solos.”
